Love of South and North/aka Impossible Love (2003)

남남북녀 (Nam-nam-book-nyeo)

Jo In-Seong (조인성) famous for Kdrama "Something Happened in Bali" Chul Soo (playboy from the South)

Kim Sa-rang (김사랑)
Heo Yeong-ran (허영란)
Kong Hyeong-jin (공형진)

Summary:

This movie follows a handsome archaeology major whose speciality is "Hooking up" with pretty girls. His advisor decides to send him to China or he cannot graduate from college to find ancient Korean treasures there. While in China, he meets a beautiful North Korean girl from a powerful family, a top student and loyal follower to Kim Jung-Il. Chul-Soo becomes smitten with her and works hard to win her over. Slowly their differences melt away but will their love survive the oppressive obstacles between the North and South that threaten their relationship?

Opinion:

I enjoyed this film. It is nice to see a film that is not too weird or overwrought. Jo In Sung plays the handsome Chul-Soo well with the right amount of cockiness, playfulness to pull this role off. Kim Sa Rang as the object of affections as the girl from the North mixed the correct amount of innocence, beauty and strength to her role. I enjoyed their mating dance alot.

It is not an earth shattering film, but I enjoyed it alot.
